Hey, I'm Jess!

Not the one from New Girl, but quite frankly if you sing the theme song around me I will absolutely join in and recreate the opening credits.

 

I recently graduated with my Master's in Public Policy and have spent the past few years working on issues like financial literacy, civic engagement, and female empowerment in the nonprofit sector. In 2019, I ran for office and won a seat on my hometown's Board of Education. I am the youngest elected official in the town's history and let's just say serving in local government as 22 year-old is interesting.

 

Running for office as a young woman made me want to help other young women run which is why I frequently partner with incredible organizations like Ignite National and Running Start.

 

Outside of being a public official, I serve as a United State of Women Ambassador. Gender equity is a large part of the work I do with nonprofits like the YWCA and the Obama Foundation Community Leadership Corps.

 

Female representation is my mission. This means women are represented not just in political spaces, but all spaces. We need women not just making the laws, but making money- hence my love for financial literacy.
